(Miss Lauren) | Ballet Teacher
I look forward to joining as a new teacher of R&D School of Dance. I have written this statement an introduction for myself before starting to teach as of Tuesday 19th May 2020. For many years I have been a pupil and now teacher at Bell Ballet in Stubbington, most recently gaining my Advanced Foundation Vocational Qualification. In 2017 I completed the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance qualification in ballet at Chichester College alongside studying for my Royal Academy of Dance Advanced Foundation Vocational Qualification. To enhance my knowledge of the world of dance I completed (as of today…YAY) a BA Hons Degree in Dance, specialising in Teaching Dance, Creative Practice and Dance Psychology.
My core values that I adhere to whilst teaching are to be a respectful and reliable teacher, one of which shows compassion and is approachable to every individual in my class. I like to encourage new experiences and learning opportunities that create lasting memories as well as ensuring every student is reaching their full potential in a safe manner both physically and psychologically, by utilizing the correct teaching style for appropriate for that student. I emphasis team work and instil responsibilities that are life skills for the future and most importantly I strive to create a motivational and positive environment that nourishes creativity and individuality (after all, it’s been scientifically proven by Dr Peter Lovatt that dancing makes us happy!)
